Ms. Ford generally limits her practice to Commercial, Mineral, Health Care, Malpractice and Class Action Litigation. She regularly involves co-counsel or contracts with other experienced attorneys on a case by case basis depending on the subject matter and type of specialized knowledge required to assist her clients. Ms. Ford has provided consulting to large private and public companies on management, strategic planning and development issues.
Ms. Ford was born in Louisville, Kentucky. She was admitted to practice law in 1986 in Kentucky and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Kentucky and the U.S. Court of Appeals, 6th Circuit. Her undergraduate degree was received, cum laude, from the University of Louisville, B.A., and she attended the University of Kentucky College of Law and Northern Kentucky University Chase Law School where she received her J.D.
Ms. Ford served the Commonwealth of Kentucky in the position of General Counsel for the Cabinet for Human Resources during the administration of Governor Brereton Jones. This Cabinet directed twelve separate departments including Medicaid, health care licensing and regulation, mental and public health facilities and social services. In that position, she served as lead counsel in cases for the Governor and Cabinet Secretary and occasionally as lead counsel for the Attorney General in lawsuits related to medical services.
Early in her career Ms. Ford served on the state wide Council for Higher Education, the Board of Trustees for the University of Louisville and on a number of state wide education and health care committees for the three largest Universities in the Commonwealth.
